| Favorite Flower | | I cannot wait until the weather straightens out and I can have flowers outside. I absolutely love flowers. I love just about all of them. Even though I won't have any growing this year, I love lilies and tulips. We live in an apartment and have only been here for 2 months. At our previous apartment, we lived on the 3rd floor and only had a balcony. But I had 5 terra cotta pots of gorgeous hibiscus. And a few other planters with brightly colored petunias and such. I also love roses. I can't even pick a single favorite. What about you? Do you love them all or do you like just one the best? | |
| | Cooking with fresh herbs.... | | For the last few years, well more than a few, I've been saying to myself, "this year I'm gonna grow my own herbs." This has just been a little conversation with myself like I said and before now I've never done it.A few weeks ago I bought one of those herb starter kits. The kind with the seeds the terra cotta pots and the starter soil. I didn't think anything would happen. To my surprise, this morning when I got up and went to the kitchen sink, my little pots all had little sprouts in them! I couldn't believe it, and hope they continue to grow and be usable in my cooking.My question for you is have you ever used one of these types of kits and has it been successful. And the other is, do you use fresh herbs in your cooking? Do you think they taste better than the dried types? I was just kind of interested to see how many of you go through the growing and maintaining to be able to do this. | |

| China's terra-cotta warriors to be shown in London | | Over 120 loan objects from China's Museum of Terra-cotta Army will be shown this autumn in a major British Museum exhibition which features China's first emperor. Neil MacGregor, director of the British Museum, made the announcement on Wednesday at a press launch of the museum's major exhibition in 2007. This loan exhibition "First Emperor: China's Terra-cotta Army", scheduled to run seven months from Sept. 13 this year to April 6 of next year, will feature the largest group of material from the tomb of the First Emperor to be loaned abroad, he said. Exhibits include 20 complete terra-cotta figures from the tomb of world-famous Qin Shihuangdi, China's First Emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221 to 207 B.C.) and the man who effectively created the state of China 2,000 years ago. | |
