| Decorated milk jug flower pots | | My oldest daughter had a blast today.. she is alwasy trying to get into my finger nail polish.. well the past couple days i have been saving our milk jugs and juice jugs.. I cut the tops off and I let her take the finger nail polish to decorate the bottom and the top.. I take the bottom and plant flowers in them and put them on the porch.. then I take the tops and staple them upside down to a tree and put bird seed in them.. | Lettuce Pray | |
... for more lettuce!I haven't updated on any of my gardening in a while and since I was sharing this picture with some email friends, decided now was a good time to post it here too.I've never grown lettuce before, but on a whim decided to toss a few seeds on top of an old houseplant pot. I wasn't expecting much, but they germinated in just a few days and I've been eating if for a couple of weeks now. What's good about lettuce is that it grows very fast and even when you pick a few leaves, that spurs the rest of the plants to grow more, which extends the harvest almost indefinitely. I usually pick several leaves a day (great on a tuna sandwich!) and by the next day the pot is even fuller than before. All of this was grown in a simple 8" pot. I think it looks pretty good!If you haven't tried growing lettuce, I encourage you to give it a shot. It's one of the plants that doesn't mind cooler temperatures, so even though it's fairly late to be starting a lot of things, lettuce should do fine if you wanted to start some now. | |

| Do you have flowerpot in your house? | |
I think some people like to put some flowerpots inside the house, feed them growing, in my home there are two flowerpots, my Mom is taking care of them, one is green pepper and the other is something unkown to me, haha... Before my Dad was feeding some aloe tree in the flowerpot, but when I came back after graduation from the university, the aloe was no more there... I am thinking plant some strawberry and tomato into the apartment, I can get more exygen and eat them when they get ripe, what a nice idea, haha... So do you have flowerpot in your house? If so what flowers are inside? Good day and happy living...:)
